Spar with a Rebel [Lisette]

James and his soldiers had come to Elendil's School of Swordsmanship to practice their skills with the sword, Elendil had allowed them to use the place since James and Elendil were old friends, they had served in the king's army together and they shared sentiments that were against the king, though Elendil hasn't pubically denounced the king. When James arrived he when out and started to prepare to practice his skill with the sword, after James was done preparing he started to see if he could find someone new to spar with.

Lisette had just finished all her classes for the day. It had been a stressful day and she needed to let off some steam and calm down. Since Elendíl's students were always welcome at the school, regardless of whether classes were on that day or not, that is exactly where the blonde came that afternoon.

Walking in, she noticed some unfamiliar males. Soldiers, by the looks of 'em... Dropping her bag off to the side, she withdrew her sword, beginning to warm up. After a couple of minutes she came up to James. "I assume you're here for practice...? Would you like a bout?"

Hearing someone talk to him, James looked at whomever asked to spar with him, he then said "My pleasure, now lets get on with this." James then got into a stance more suitable for sparring and waited for Lisette to make a move.

Lisette flashed a smile. "Great." She studied the way he held himself and the sword, something she'd gotten into the habit of doing with every new opponent. She brought her sword up, hitting it against James' to try and get his out of the way before lunging.

James deflected Lisette's blow to the right, he then saw that Lisette was about to lunge for him, thus he sidestepped at the last possible second and then turned around to face his opponent again, his goal was to use the least energy possible, and let the opponent get tired before he goes on the offense.

Lisette quickly closed the gap between them, before hitting his sword, harder than last time to try and make him lose his grip. Having done that, she stepped forward and lunged, attempting to get his shoulder - a place which she usually went for when only practising.

James used Lisette's memento to counter Lisette's strike, but Lisette's strike managed to hit his free arm, after that James then made a strike toward Lisette's leg, aiming to make her lose her balance, thus falling to the ground and giving a window of opportunity for further attacks.

The blonde jumped up, just in time to miss James' attack. Swiftly, while still in the air, she swung her blade down onto his free arm. Not hard enough to do any serious damage, but enough to draw a tiny amount of blood. Landing, she backed up, opening the space between them so it would be easier for her to block James' next attack.

James felt a slight pain on his arm, he then started to slowly close the distance between the two of them, once he was near enough, James striked again.

Seeing that he was advancing on her, the blonde took several steps back, but James gained on her within moments. She tried to block the attack but failed and a second later felt a pain shoot up her leg. She stumbled, but didn't take her eyes off her opponent and tried to strike again.

James parried the strike to the side and then he moved the blade to Lisette's throat, after that James said "Do you concede?"

A low growl left the girl's throat, annoyed at her own defeat. "Yeah. Yeah I do," she replied. As he removed the blade, she rubbed the spot where it had been then stuck her hand out to him. "Good match," she said. "I'm Lisette, by the way."

James withdrew his blade after Lisette conceded and introduced herself, James then replied "And I am James, and it was a pleasure to spar with you."

Lisette nodded. "Same with you. Old friend of Elendil's?" she asked as she got her bag and rifled through it for a bandage. "He doesn't usually let soldiers come and practice here."

"That is correct, we served together in the King's army." James said and then he ripped a piece of cloth from his shirt to bandage up his wound.

"Here, let me," she said, coming up to him. Gently taking the piece of fabric from him, she placed her hand just over the wound. Concentrating and willing the wound to heal, she murmured a healing spell that Kiara had taught her, letting the magic flow from her into the wound.

A moment later she stopped and looked down - it was almost healed. "I'm not too great at that yet, but it's the least I could do for you," she said with a slight shrug.

"Thank you." James said and then one of James men came and said "The king's men are coming, we must leave now." James got up and said "Time to go then, once again, it was a pleasure to spar with you." James then started to head out

"You're welcome. Good luck with everything and hopefully we will run into each other again at some point," she said with a smile and a wave, before sitting down and beginning to magick her own wound into healing.

James arrived at the gates of the acedemy and saw that the King's men were waiting for him, thus he drew his blade and said "Today we fight, leave one alive and see how they found us." James then charged with his men toward the King's men and started to engage in combat.

The two guards had been on duty for a good few hours now. While their fire burned lazily at their feet, Dave struggled to keep his eyes open, and Bill was fast asleep.
It was quite an incredible sight, actually, as Bill was still standing at attention as he did it.

No wonder he got-a promotion.. Thought Dave, He 'ways looks like he's ready fer action!

Dave woke from his half-slumber as a small party approached.


"Oi, Bill."

Dave nudged his counter-part and gave a hoarse whisper.
"Bill! PSSST..!"

Bill woke groggily from his standing sleep, and groaned to his friend,
"DAVE! What?! I was having a lo-o-o-ovely dream about some chick and her horses."

Dave snorted in laughter, before returning to his mind to the issue at hand,
"Bill, that guy over there... He look fam-ill-ee-are?"

"Why, Dave, I think he does. Inn'ee that trait-or James?"

"Why, Bill, I think it is. We're inna fer proomotion if we arrest him."

Bill nudged Dave with a wink,
"And a fancy penny or two to spend at Nancy's.."

Dave grinned heartily, shoulders back,
"That'll be Private-FIRST to you, Corp-ral Bill.

The two laughed togehter breifly, before regaining composure.

"OI!" Shouted Bill,
"'HO GOES THERE?!" Chimed in Dave.

The two picked up their spears and shields, and as they meandered over, saw the group begin to charge.
Although they fell quickly, they wounded a vagabond grievously on the thigh.

The next shift was going to start soon too, our poor duo.

James saw that one of his men was injured thus he ordered for the others to pick him up and start to get out while James and a few others hold the king's men off for a while, at least until they can get the wounded soldier to a safe distance away from the battle, then James and his men will scatter into the forest and find their own way back to their base of operations
